Bodwell High School isn't your typical high school. This co-educational boarding school offers students a unique experience with stunning views of Burrard Bay and the Vancouver skyline. Founded in 1991, Bodwell welcomes students from grades 8 to 12 from all over the world, creating a vibrant and culturally rich environment.

Bodwell's hard work and commitment to excellence haven't gone unnoticed. They've been recognized with the Travel Study Mastery Award (STM Star High School) in both 2014 and 2015, as well as the International Higher Education Marketing Award from the BCCIE in 2015.

Beyond academics, Bodwell places a strong emphasis on building character and social responsibility. Through their "House System," students are placed into one of six houses, each representing a core value like fairness, teamwork, and peaceful conflict resolution. Throughout their time at Bodwell, students participate in activities and competitions within their houses, developing important life skills like teamwork, respect, and cultural sensitivity.

What Bodwell Looks For

The admissions team considers a variety of factors when evaluating applications, including:

• Academic Performance: Good grades in your last three years of school are important.
• Well-roundedness: Bodwell seeks students with a strong academic record and a demonstrated interest in extracurricular activities.
• Teacher Recommendations: Positive references from your teachers can give your application a boost.
• Standardized Tests: In some cases, you may be required to submit scores from English proficiency tests like the IELTS or TOEFL, or take an online entrance exam.
• Interview: You may be invited to participate in a face-to-face, phone, or Skype interview with admissions staff.

Important Deadlines

Applications for Bodwell High School are typically accepted in September, January, and April.  International students should take note: due to limited space in the dorms, it's important to submit your application well in advance, ideally no later than four months before the start of the semester you wish to begin. Exceptions may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

The entire application process can be completed online through the Bodwell High School website (available in Farsi!). Here's what you'll need to submit:

• A completed application form
• Scanned copy of your passport's first page
• Digital passport photo
• Official transcripts and progress reports from the past three years of school
• Proof of payment for the study program
• Personal information
• Teacher reference letters (may be required)
• Proof of participation in online entrance exams (if applicable)
• English test results (IELTS/TOEFL - may be required)

International students living outside of British Columbia will need to have a Canadian guardian, or "custodian," who acts as a local support person during their studies.

Fees

As an international student on a study visa, you'll pay tuition for two semesters per year. The base tuition is $31,500 CAD, but there are additional fees to consider:

• Boarding: Living in the dorms costs $23,500 CAD for two semesters.
• Extracurricular Activities: Unleash your talents! Bodwell offers a variety of clubs and activities for an additional $1,200 CAD per year.
• Technology Fee: Stay connected and access the latest tech tools with the $800 CAD technology fee.
• Medical Insurance: Your well-being is a priority. Medical insurance costs $1,075 CAD per year.
• Application Fee: There's a $350 CAD application fee to secure your spot.
• School Uniform: Look sharp and feel like part of the team with the $1,200 CAD school uniform fee.
